• Dubbing premiere : 12/26/1993
• VHS release date : 10/06/1994
• The dubbing started work in May 1993.
• Aladdin was the first Disney animated feature to be dubbed into Icelandic. The result was so successful that Disney ordered more titles to be dubbed into Icelandic. According to Björn Árnason, Disney was in awe by the quality of the dubbing and said, "Aren't there only 250 thousand of you up there in Iceland?" Where do you get all these talented people from?" Almost 35,000 people saw the Icelandic dubbing in cinemas.
• Both the Icelandic dub and the original English version were shown in the same cinemas only with different showtimes.
• Felix Bergsson and Edda Heiðrún Backman who voice the main characters Aladdin and Jasmine here, also voiced Prince Cornelius and Thumbelina, who are the main characters in their film Thumbelina.
• For the 1993 release, Disney teamed up with McDonald's to promote the film with Aladdin themed Happy Meal toys. In 2009, McDonald's shut down in Iceland following the Icelandic financial crisis and was replaced by Metro (a localized version of McDonald's with the same food and the menu translated into Icelandic.)
• The 1993 release was accompanied by a contest in which children would send in coloring pages into the Morgunblaðið newspaper. 500 children received an invitation from Sam-bíóin in the mail to attend a Christmas ball at the Hotel Íslandi. At the ball, the names of three children were chosen in a raffle and the winners received a Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) game console with the Aladdin video game, a copy of Disney's Beauty and the Beast on VHS, and tickets for their whole family to see Aladdin in cinemas.
• The 1994 VHS release was refused delivery to Bonús supermarket stores by Sam-myndbönd. According to Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson, the reason why was that the supermarket chain priced Aladdin at 1,795 ISK each; which was 400-500 ISK lower than the suggested retail price.
• For unknown reasons, the Icelandic dubbing credits for Aladdin do not appear on Disney+. The Icelandic credits for the first direct-to-video film (The Return of Jafar) do appear on the streaming platform and the voice cast from that film is the same as this one.
• The 2004 DVD release from Spain also has the Icelandic dubbing and subtitles. Normally, it is the Finnish and Swedish DVD releases that have Icelandic audio and subtitles at this time, but not this one.
