Trivia :

  • Premiere : 11/24/1994
  • Re-release : 10/05/2011 (3D version)
  • The film's original Dutch title De Leeuwenkoning can only be seen on the original posters and the original 1995 VHS release. Later releases used the original English title instead.
  • Arnold Gelderman decided to provide Timon and Pumbaa with Flemish actors. His idea was to have Simba go to another country when he was exiled. As a result, both Timon and Pumbaa were given Flemish accents to match their environment.
  • There exists a Flemish CD from 2003 containing the songs dubbed into Flemish. But the film itself was not dubbed into Flemish. This CD was created to promote the 2003 Platinum Edition DVD release in Belgium.
