Trivia :

  • Premiere : 11/30/1990
  • - Re-release : 01/30/1998
  • The 1991 VHS does not include the Swedish texts or credits at all.
  • There are several scenes that were cut from the premiere because the censors believed that they could have scared children. Cut scenes include Ariel and Flounder in the sunken ship being chased by the shark, several shots of Triton destroying Ariel's grotto, Ursula stealing Ariel's voice, the first half of Les Poissons, and several shots during the final battle. These scenes were reinstated into the 2006 Platinum Edition DVD release but recycled audio to fill in the gaps.
