Trivia :
- Premiere of the first dubbing : 12/19/1959 (Asta theatre in 70 mm)
- Premiere of the first dubbing : 04/14/1960 (standard release)
- Re-release of the first dubbing : 04/03/1980
- Re-release / premiere of the second dubbing : 10/11/1995
- The 1980 re-release was shown in 25 cinemas, but the dubbed version was shown in only one cinema.
- The last cinema re-release in 1995 included the redub and then released on VHS in 1996.
- The movie was redubbed because the Dutch language changed a lot and the old dub used old Dutch mannerisms.
- After the 1959 dub, Sleeping Beauty was the last Disney movie to be dubbed into Dutch. In the 1960’s the attendance in Dutch theaters was very low, then they stopped dubbing the animated films from 101 Dalmatians and started to dub again in 1977 with The Sword in the Stone and The Rescuers as the dubbing process was very expensive at the time.
- The 1959 dubbing was only released on the 1989 rental VHS.
- The film was originally called De Schone Slaapster. But was changed to Doornroosje - De Schone Slaapster for the 1989 VHS release and changed to Doornroosje in 1995 for the final cinema re-release and the second VHS release from 1996.
