Trivia :
- Premiere : 12/1968 (English version with Dutch subtitles)
- Re-release : 12/20/1979 (Dutch dubbing)
- Re-release : 04/01/1993
- For the Dutch version, only the first part of the opening credits were localized into Dutch. The second part of the credits use the English version.
- It took until 1979 for The Jungle Book to receive a Dutch dubbing as cinema attendance had declined at the end of the 1950s. But since the cinema attendance started to increase at the end of the 1970s, Disney films were shown in Dutch again.
- Prior to the creation of the Dutch dubbing, an LP dubbing was done in 1968. This dubbing would be re-released several times including on CD in 1992. This dubbing is completely different from the film version. Lex Goudsmit who dubbed Baloo in this version, would dub Colonel Hathi in the film version.
- The creation of the Dutch version only took two months.
- Harry Geelen chose the voice actors based on how the characters looked. Bagheera, for example, he chose Joan Remmelts as he had the voice for an old worried panther.
- Michiel Geelen was 11 years old when he dubbed for Mowgli. Michiel also knew almost the entire text by heart as he would listen to his father with the tape recorder frequently. He is also the son of the dubbing director Harry Geelen. Coincidentally this happened with the original English version as well. Bruce Reitherman is one of the sons of director Wolfgang Reitherman.
- On the casting sheet and the film itself, Coen Flink's name is misspelled as "Coen Flinck."
- The voices for the other elephants, the vultures, wolves, and the girl are not credited in the dubbing credits or film itself. Their names were included on the casting sheet.
