  • *Hanny Schedin is credited as Hanny Sjödin on the VHS and DVD release. This is due to an error. 
  • ​**There is only one Swedish dub of this film. However the ending choir was plastered with an instrumental on the stereo VHS release from the late 1990s and the 2000s DVD release as the film was poorly remixed from mono into Dolby 5.1. In the slideshow below, there is a diagram where the ending choir is included in the releases. 
  • The original mono mix can be found on the mono VHS releases which includes the 1986 rental only VHS and the 1999 DVD release. The latter of which is highly sought after and commands high prices on Tradera.
  • The 1986 rental VHS surprisingly has a Hi-Fi track.
  • The film's title was changed to Pysen, trollkarlen och svärdet for the 1983 re-release and is presented that way on the 1993 VHS release. The 1986 rental VHS uses this title as the subtitle on the cover. The original Svärdet i stenen title was restored for the 2000 VHS release.
  • On the 1986 rental VHS and 1989 sale VHS, the film used the censored version in which four minutes of the film were cut in accordance with censorship policies. These removed scenes were determined at the time as "violent for Swedish children." Scenes removed include most of the shots of the pike hunting Wart (as a fish), close up shot of the wolf chasing the girl squirrel, the scene in which Archimedes holding the hawk back by the tail feathers, the scene in which the hawk surprises Wart on Madam Mim's chimney, most of the scene in which Madam Mim (as a cat) chases Wart (as a bird) around her house, the scene when Wart (as a bird) was used as a dart for Madam Mim's dartboard, and the scene in which Madam Mim (as a dragon) breathes fire into the hole where Merlin (as a mouse) is hiding. The first time the film was shown uncut was the 1993 VHS release. However, the line said by Madam Mim, "Sounds like someone's sick, how lovely. I do hope it's serious, something dreadful." The bold part of this line was censored on the 1993 VHS and DVD/Blu-Ray releases. This was carried over from the U.K. print of the film which censored this line. This line is available uncut on the vinyl LP of the film as well as the 1986 rental VHS and 1989 sale VHS.
  • In the scene when Sir Ector grabs Wart's scarf and says "Then come on, Prove it! Back to the stone with you!", Ector's line is missing from the dubbing. Only Wart moaning in pain can be heard.
  • Until 1987, the Swedish rental VHS releases could also be sold to private individuals by stores approved by Walt Disney Home Video / Select Video & Hemmets Journal AB. This also included the 1986 rental VHS release of The Sword in the Stone.
  • On 12/25/1994, SVT (Sveriges Television) showed the film in its censored version. The print that was used during this broadcast was the same as the 1986 rental VHS and 1989 sale VHS and even used the Walt Disney Home Video intro from the 1986 rental VHS.
  • This is currently the oldest Disney animated film not to be redubbed into Swedish.
