Trivia :
- Premiere : 12/20/1968
- Re-release : 12/16/1977
- Re-release : 12/24/1987
- Re-release : 03/16/1993 (premiere of the second dub)
- There are two dubs of this film. The first in 1968 and the second in 1993. The 1968 dubbing was only used in cinemas; extracts from this dubbing were released on vinyl as part of a storybook for young children. The 1993 dub was created for the 1993 cinema re-release and the first home media release of the film.
- Some Finnish cinemas only screened the English version with Finnish subtitles during the 1968 release. A few cinemas screened a Finnish voiceover version in 1971.
- Both dubbing directors voiced and sang for Baloo. Bäckman in 1968 and Lehtosaari in 1993.
- Both Mowgli and Bagheera were voiced by women in the 1968 dub. Jaana was thirteen when she voiced Mowgli.
- Mowgli is not mentioned by name in either of the Finnish dubs by the characters speaking to him. Instead he is called "ihmispentu" in the 1968 dub and "ihmispoika" in the 1993 dub; both translate to "the man cub."
- In the 1993 dub, Colonel Hathi was changed from being a colonel into a general. This was inspired by Keijo Kompaa, who was also a general, and the idea was suggested by him to Pekka Lehtosaari to include in the 1993 dub.
- Veeti and the Velvets agreed to dub the vultures under the condition that they are referred to their band name and not by their specific names. Veeti and the Velvets also believed they would be speaking in the Turku dialect, they tried it, but it didn’t work. (source)
- Blake Todd considered the Finnish 1993 voices of Baloo and King Louie to be the best voices for the characters. (source)
